Final Destination 1

Lewis Carroll once said, “If you do not know where you are going, all roads will take you there”. Inversely, If you know where you are going, you will take the road that takes you to your destination. Praise the Lord we confessed the prayer we did when we got born again, thank God we are saved. But now, what? Where to from here? The Word of God says about us, “of whom He did foreknow, He also did pre-destine to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.”- Romans 8:29.

Being born again is more than just a ticket on a blue train to heaven and a Jacuzzi bath from sin. If that was the case we would have all been raptured the day we got born again. The ultimate goal God has with the new man is not so they can just go to heaven, but so they can conform FULLY to the image of Christ. That is why when He planned salvation, He placed the seed of the Word (Christ) to be the founding factor. ”…being born again…of the incorruptible seed of the Word…which you received when the gospel was preached to you” 1 Pet 1:23-25.  A seed germinates and grows up to produce fruits of its kind. Our kind is Christ, our destination.

Christ is the VISIBLE expression or image of the invisible God.  VISIBLE! [Selah]. The bible says creation WAITS and LONGS for the MANIFESTATION of the sons of God. NOTE: It does not groan for the sons of God, but for the VISIBILITY of the sons of God. “Ye are the light of the earth, Ye are the salt of the earth”. Jesus said. He wasn’t just trying to pull a Shakespeare, He knew exactly what He spoke of. He intentionally used something visible (light) and something that brings about a needed noticeable change to wherever it is applied (salt) to define the role of His body because He is Himself the expressed image of God and He is our destination.

The problem today is that we have become too common as the church, creation looks at us, and looks at unbelievers, and continues to groan, because it sees no difference. It looks at a Christian who has been in the church for 50 years and an unbeliever and SEES no difference, and it throws up a Tsunami. No difference.  Yet we joy in singing “We are marching to heaven “.

Why were the five fold ministers sent out? Was it to create an extra career option for people? Was it so we can have people who keep us busy on a Sunday while we wait for Jesus to come back and rescue us from this horrible world where they steal our iphones? No! Every man/woman of God is called for this: “For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a PERFECT MAN, unto the measure of the stature of the FULLNESS of Christ”- Ephesians 4:11-13

Apostle Paul, one of the greatest, caught these things. Why else would he “count ALL things dung FOR THE EXCELLENCY OF KNOWING CHRIST”? We need to know this way, to walk in this way. This way, is Christ, the Word…..
