Goodbye Fear #As I enter into rest

Fear is one crippling spirit that when it torments a person, it can pull him down stronger than gravity can ever do. Almost every person has experienced some fear in his/her life and some of us still do. We have experienced it a lot, so much so that it has become a norm for one to fear, in fact, if you do not fear something, you are “weird” according to the times we live in. We even believe that answering questions like “What is your greatest fear in life?” is so great.

As a child of God I asked myself, is fear normal? I mean is this crippling force that stops me from accomplishing, trying, conquering a lot of things in life, even doing ministry for God, normal? Clearly there must be something to it, am I conforming too much to the standards of this world?

Jesus said,” My Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid”

This is the same peace that caused Him to sleep in the middle of the storm. (Mark4:35-40) A peace based on knowledge and a presence. He said before they crossed, “Let us go over TO THE OTHER SIDE”. Surely His Words do not fail, so He knew they would make it, despite the storm. This peace, He gave to us [Selah]

God has not given His children the spirit of fear, but of power (ability to do), love (unconditional) and a sound mind. –2 Timothy 1:7

Power (Ability): Fear cripples you, but God, through His Spirit (You shall receive power when the spirit comes upon you) enables you.

Love: Acknowledgement of God’s Perfect love for you drives out all fear. “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love” 1 John 4:18

Sound mind: Be anxious for nothing, but in all things take it to God through prayer and thanks giving(from knowledge that God will do it)and His peace will guard your HEART and MIND. Phil 4:6. We function in a sound mind if we take all our issues to God, and He in turn guards our mind and heart with peace.

God has given us all that we need for life and godliness and fear is not one of those things. Why do we still feel fearful then? What we feel is our fearful emotions. God has given us His peace in our spirit. We need to learn to enter into His rest and let the peace manifest in our soul and body, till such a time that our response to things is influenced by the knowledge of God’s love and provision for us, because that drives out all fear. We should learn to not let our hearts be troubled (Jesus said).Refuse to let anything trouble your heart. Stay and function from a realm of peace. Strengthen yourself in the Lord, and you will walk in peace that surpasses understanding. Return the fear, for it is not your portion. “Peace, I give to you”.
