From the Aliens : “Know and function”

Every time I watch programs like Fringe, The Event or any other program where there are people on earth who are either from another planet or an alternative universe but who look like human beings but have a different DNA or blood colour, every time I watch these programs I cannot help but notice the following about these people, who are usually called aliens:

1.   They live with a constant realisation that even though they look like everyone else on earth, they are not of their world.

2.   They always know their mission and reason for being on earth and everything they do on earth, they do so to position themselves to function in the mission to which they are sent.

I always think about Christians when I see these aliens in these programs, as weird as that may sound. As a Christian:

1.   I know that the blood of Jesus has made a difference in my life, and that I always ought to live in the realisation of who I am, a new creation in Christ, and that in everything , God is my advantage.

2.   I know that there is a reason why I was not raptured the day I became a new creation in Christ, that there in a mission that I personally have to fulfil, for the sake of the kingdom of God.

These two points can be summed up in these two verses :

2 Corinthians 5:17-18(NIV)

“17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here![Point number 1]

18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:[Point number 2]

Most of us are content with the knowledge of who we are only and enjoy and appreciate verse 17. But there is a verse 18, which say we (all those who are included in verse 17) have all been given the ministry of reconciliation. Reconciliation can mean restoring relations between two, but in this verse it goes beyond that, to mean to make one with God. Just like in Accounting, when you reconcile two records, you ensure that both are in agreement.

God has predestined us to be like Christ and to conform to His image. This all starts off through receiving Christ. It started that way for each of us. This is why it is the responsibility of every child of God to share the gospel because it is the power of God unto salvation. This ministry of reconciliation is then perfected when we grow from glory to glory until you are transformed in to full stature of Christ ( 2Cor 3:18) .God has given us gifts to help us in this, the fivefold ministers (Eph 4:11-13). It is important to know who you are, win souls in your area of influence and to function in your gift and calling.
